  • A “ropes” course for use by the community and corporations

  • The expansion of the Conner Creek Greenway throughout the park

  • Ample greenspace for walking, running, jogging, picnicking, yoga, gathering and more

The Detroit Recreation Department will increase their programming to include:

  • Movie Night

  • Archery

  • Summer Camp Activities

  • Summer lunch

  • Concerts in the park

Detroit PAL has agreed to provide programming for youth sports throughout Chandler Park and, in 2013, a PAL football team started practicing at Chandler Park – the first such recreation activity at the park in at least 20 years.  In 2014, PAL added t-ball programming at Chandler Park.

Further progress continues.  In partnership with Detroit PAL, the National Football League and LISC, a new turf football/soccer field has broke ground and will be ready for play in June of 2016, Detroit PAL help will maintain and program the field.  To make room for the field, Detroit’s General Services Department has demolished an abandoned pool and basketball court facilities.  The U.S. Tennis Association and Detroit PAL are also working together to recruit local tennis pros to organize tennis instruction and competition for “tots” and youth, starting in spring 2016 and a $200,000 gift has been received from the Ralph Wilson Foundation to completely rebuild the tennis courts at Chandler Park, Opening in the spring of 2016.
