Great Things Are Happening at Chandler Park
Your Opportunity to See Chandler Park’s First Youth Tennis Exhibition
Detroit, MI-Thursday July 28, 2016 from 5pm-6:30pm the kids from Chandler Park and Parkside Village tennis team will be demonstrating some of their skills and techniques on Chandler Park’s brand new tennis courts which was funded by the Ralph and Mary Wilson Foundation. The children have been coached under the leadership of Jerry Wysinger who also coaches Martin Luther King Jr. High School and Palmer Park tennis teams. Come out and support our youth as they show off their new skills.
The seven-week tennis program was supported by Detroit Pal and the United States Tennis Association began June 20th and was open to youth ages 6-18 and all skill levels. The program teaches tennis fundamentals and helps develop already existing skills. The program was made possible through the efforts of many partners.
All the partners are committed to the well-being and active life-styles of the youth. Partners include Detroit PAL, Friends of Parkside, USTA Junior Team Tennis (USTA), Chandler Park Conservancy, and Detroit Parks and Recreation Department (DPRD). Come out and support our youth as they show off their new tennis skills. Bring your tennis racket, tennis player of all ages are welcome to join in the fun.
